Dr. Choi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr. Catherine Choi graduated with combined M.D.-Ph.D. degrees from Drexel University College of Medicine. In her final year in medical school, she was selected for the Dermatology Medical Student Award given to the most promising future dermatologist in her graduating class. She completed her medical internship at Lehigh Valley Hospital, where she earned the Transitional Resident of the Year Award.
Born in Los Angeles, Dr. Choi spent her childhood in a military family. She has lived in the Philadelphia area for the past three decades. She graduated from Swarthmore College with a B.S. in Engineering and attended the University of Pennsylvania's Post-Baccalaureate Program. After completing her M.D. and Ph.D. degrees, Dr. Choi completed her dermatology residency at Drexel University College of Medicine and served as Chief Resident in her last year. She briefly continued her basic and translational science research as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology and mentored medical students as the Clerkship Director.
Dr. Choi is married and has three children. Her interests include following the local sports teams (Go Birds!) and continuing her scientific research in developmental disorders, disorders of aging, and genodermatoses.
Dr. Choi has been named a Top Doctor on several occasions by prestigious Castle Connolly, South Jersey Magazine, and Philadelphia Magazine.
Mission
Dr. Choi's mission is to practice medicine that focuses on combining patient history, competent diagnosing of skin conditions, thorough discussion of treatment options, and devising of a treatment plan with each patient. Her mission is to engage patients in their own healthcare and decision-making based on evidence-based medicine.
